Day 1 Aug 19 - Aug 20
We drove into Chicago today and caught the Iceland Air jet to Reykjavik, Iceland. First a couple of passages from the books that Leanne bought about Iceland and then here we are on the plane for 6 hours. The International airport is about an hour from Reykjavik. We had a shuttle bus that loaded all our luggage and took us into the city. It was morning. We were to fly out to Akureyri later in the afternoon. So we had some time to grab some breakfast and then do a little exploring. Once we arrived in Akureyri we had supper at an Indian restaurant and then to our apartments and to bed.
This catherdral is a landmark in Reykjavik. The organ was amazing and they were setting up for an organ recital that afternoon. We were able to hear some of the organists warm up.
