Day 3 Aug 22

Up and breakfast at our apartment.  Then off to the Yoga studio for a session.  Then lunch and then either horseback riding or whale watching.  Leanne chose whale watching but only saw one whale.  I, of course, chose Icelandic Horses.

We drove along the fjord to get the the stable.  So a few pictures along the way. Icelandic horses are interesting.  They have 5 gaits...Walk, trot, tolt, fast pace and gallop.  The horses sort of toss their feet out when they move.  They are the only breed of horse allowed in Iceland.  If a horse is exported it is not allowed back into the country.  They are beautiful and the ride was great.  We saw some sheep on the ride. The cat is called Ginger. The videos below are when they moved the horses to a new pasture as we were leaving.

Then a bit of goofing around downtown. Trolls, elves and witches are part of the Icelandic folklore. On the street was this fun troll and Gerry and Larry enjoyed. The Norseman was fun too. We also went to the performance center and met the old lady on the bench.

The mural on the building was not my picture.

Watch for the dog that is herding the horses.  Amazing!

Loud obnoxious music in the bus and a dirty windshield.  But still cool to see.
