Day 2 Jan 18
Breakfast at 7 and head to the border at 8. The border crossing was uneventful. We continued to the outdoor market. It was not at all crowded and we were introduced to some different fruits and vegetables. Back on the bus and driving along the coast to Ensenada. We ate at a private home. Dona Sylvia made a meatball soup and then beef, rice and corn bake. Not spicy and delicious.
Back on the bus and driving to San Quintin. This part of the trip reminded me of the Scottish Highlands. Very beautiful. Artemeo talked to us about what we were seeing. Many small towns and small businesses. Also there was lots of farmland. Huge grape fields. We drove through an area that produces 60% of the tomatoes we eat. We saw lots of hoop houses. We arrived in San Quintin around 5 pm. We are "on the ocean". We can hear it but hard to see it. Still it is quite an oasis here. We had margaritas and great food. Then we took a walk outside. It was lovely and we saw the moon
